Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour
We loved going to Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour in Fig Garden Village, in Fresno, Calif when ever we found a chance like FHE, birthdays, after Stake Dances, after we had gone down Christmas Tree Lane. We loved browsing and shopping the Farrell’s Candy Store full of candy & toys. (A child’s dream) The jaw breakers came in all sizes from the size of a softball to smaller, rock candy and candy buttons in all colors. We would order hamburgers, but most of all the ice cream. What great memories I have.
It was always fun to go on your birthday you would great free sundae and all of the waiters and waitresses banging the drums and singing "Happy Birthday". I remember the player piano, the candy store, the straw hats, the menus printed on newspaper, and the drums and sirens that sounded during a birthday fest.
The Farrell's Zoo – two servers would run around with the Zoo bowl on a little stretcher and make a big commotion before dropping it off at the table. They had an old hand-cranked fire siren that sounded all the time the servers were delivering The Zoo. It was loads of ice cream and you got to take home the little plastic animals.
The Pig's Trough – was actually 2 banana splits together – If you ate all of it own your own you would be given a ribbon or a pin
The "Tin Roof" was another great sundae - with really thick hot, hot, hot dark fudge served on the side, in a tin cup, to pour over at will, and lots of roasted peanuts to toss on top. Utter Heaven.

Flash Back Friday - Destiny or The Lord's Hand
I know it was The Lord's hand. How do you take a young man from a very small town in north east Ohio, to serve in The Fresno California Mission and meet a young lady (I was only 16) if not by divine nature? My Father served in the mission presidency at the time so I met a lot of missionaries, at sixteen, that was a lot of fun. I had meet Elder Williams, only about three times. But there was something about Elder Williams that my Father liked. Elder Williams finished his mission in another area went home for about 9 months before he returned to the Clovis/Fresno area and the rest is history as they say.

Flash Back Friday - I have always loved the Sun
Jason and Christi - Clovis, CA
This was a common sight, Jason and I lived in the pool and spent most of our time in our swim suits. Look how tan we were and how blonde my hair was. (I think I am about 11 in this picture.)Tuesday, July 8, 2008
"25" Years - Donny & Christi
There once was a very young women (only 18) who met and fell in love with a very handsome young man (he was 23) a return missionary, who was and still is a big flirt. Yes, there is a very long version of this story. So to get to the point, this handsome young man took the very young (but mature) women, (hee hee) by the hand to the temple to be married for time and all eternity. The day was beautiful, the occasion joyous, the moment complete. They were one, forever and ever.
Through the trials of life they had each other to lean on. There were many hardships as well as triumphs. They had their ups and downs, new places to see, and times to learn. Sometimes all they had was each other and at other times maybe said things they wish they hadn’t. This young man was counseled to tell her “you love her” everyday and he did, even if she didn’t deserve to hear such kind words some days.
They grew together, taught each other, loved each other. Even laughed and cried with and at each other. Through the years as time passed by until we come to today. Could it be, really? 25 years ago, you took me by the hand to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. Here we are, a little worn from the wear. I love you with all my heart.
Happy Anniversary Donny!

Flash Back Friday - Camping / Girls Camp
I loved all our camping trips, what great memories I have of treasure hunts, "did you hear that", playing pit and green skittles out your nose. Me heating up my hot rollers in a pot over the fire so I could do my hair. LOL
I loved having you up at Girls Camp, sneaking in for extra treats, stealing the shower curtain, and all the forks and spoons. It was so fun!!
I love the sitting by the campfire, looking at the stars all night, I never slept very well, but I loved the breakfasts - Yummy
