Lake Powell - July 2nd - 5th, 2010

We went to Lake Powell over the 4th of July weekend again this year. We had a blast. We go to the Wahweep Marina just outside of Page AZ. The weather was amazing, the water was perfect. The house boat has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We ate great food and watched some of the games of The World Cup.

Happy Birthday Donny!

Age is a funny thing, are minds do not feel older but our body does. I think Donny looks great for "49" with very few gray hairs. I have more gray than his does! It was wonderful to have everything there, we enjoyed great food and being together. Shelby made Donny a cute pillow.

Watch out! They're out to get You

Okay the state of Utah, like everywhere needs more revenue, so every cop, highway patrol and sheriff are out looking for ANY reason to give out tickets.

In a period of 2 1/2 weeks, Donny, Kristen and I have gotten tickets. Donny for speeding, there were no speed signs in the area, so he guessed the speed and he guessed wrong. (he has NEVER had a ticket), Kristen for tail gating while going into a roundabout. WHAT? (she has NEVER had a ticket) and me, because I didn't change lanes for a police car that had someone pulled over, the problem was there was someone in the lane beside me. (I have had a ticket, but about 18 years ago) So I have an arraignment date in March. (doesn’t that sound fun?)

Now we are all freaked out about driving anywhere. So any driving law that you have EVER heard of and even ones you haven’t, follow them!! Stop at the white line before the side walk, don't tailgate, change lanes for a policeman who has someone pulled over, don't speed, don't talk of your cell phone, buckle up and buckle all kids (I do any ways) make sure you are registered and have insurance. I hope this helps save you from any of the pain we have suffered. :-)

The Family Bed???

When we had first child we would let her come and get in bed with us when she would wake up in the middle of the night. Until I was big and pregnant with our second baby, the first would wiggly around and end of kicking me in the tummy. We decided that night that we could not do this anymore. I remember that first night of breaking her from coming into our room was hard and the next few nights were horrible. But once we did it, we didn't have that problem again.

Then one night when our second daughter was sick Donny was too tired to make her a bed on the floor, he said "just this once" and he laid her on his side of the bed. Yes, you guessed it, she throw up all over him and all over the bed. I was huge and pregnant with our third this time, and thought I was going to a... join the in the fun. Yucky!

So if the children are sick we make a bed for them on the floor by our bed or out in the hallway by the bathroom.

Since we had broken the first one from coming into our bed, the others really never did it. We enjoyed that until now with our 9th. Are we weak, older or just too tired?? I am not sure, but I do know that 20 years later I have another wiggly 3 year old coming and getting into bed with us and kicking me in the tummy again and I love it.

Flash Back Friday - Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving with the Family
Clovis, Calif - Nov, 1982

Every holiday was a celebration at our house. The whole extended family would come, I loved being with everyone. I also remember Mom cooking and cleaning herself to death. As you can see she paid great attention to all the little details, the food was always wonderful. Thank you Mom for all the great memories and your holiday magic.

Flash Back Friday - Destiny or The Lord's Hand

Jason, Christi (me), Mom, Jared, Dad, Lisa and Elder Williams
Aug 1981, Clovis Calif - Gettysburg Chapel

I know it was The Lord's hand. How do you take a young man from a very small town in north east Ohio, to serve in The Fresno California Mission and meet a young lady (I was only 16) if not by divine nature? My Father served in the mission presidency at the time so I met a lot of missionaries, at sixteen, that was a lot of fun. I had meet Elder Williams, only about three times. But there was something about Elder Williams that my Father liked. Elder Williams finished his mission in another area went home for about 9 months before he returned to the Clovis/Fresno area and the rest is history as they say.

From Bobcat to Wolf - Derek & Devin

This has been a fast and fun filled year; the boys will soon be 9. They have enjoyed scouting so much, they loved Day Camp and the Pack Meetings and the other activities that they have been able to do. They have now moved rank from a Bobcat to a Wolf. Great Job Guys!!

The picture is dark because, it was set up like a campout
with a "fire", tent and all the extras.
Very Cool! - We have great leaders!!

Since we have two boys, they pined one on me than one on Donny

Cub Scout Rain Gutter Regatta

Derek and Devin have really enjoyed many activities with the cub scouts this summer. Cub Scout Day Camp was a blast, they earned belt loops in Archery, BB Shooting and Astronomy. They also had the Cub Scout Rain Gutter Regatta on July 8th, it's kind of like the pine wood derby cars but they are boats. The boys have to blow air with a straw to move the boats along down the rain gutter. Derek ended up taking 1st every time and ended up with the overall top boat. Way to go Boys!!

Go Devin!!

"25" Years - Donny & Christi

There once was a very young women (only 18) who met and fell in love with a very handsome young man (he was 23) a return missionary, who was and still is a big flirt. Yes, there is a very long version of this story. So to get to the point, this handsome young man took the very young (but mature) women, (hee hee) by the hand to the temple to be married for time and all eternity. The day was beautiful, the occasion joyous, the moment complete. They were one, forever and ever.

Through the trials of life they had each other to lean on. There were many hardships as well as triumphs. They had their ups and downs, new places to see, and times to learn. Sometimes all they had was each other and at other times maybe said things they wish they hadn’t. This young man was counseled to tell her “you love her” everyday and he did, even if she didn’t deserve to hear such kind words some days.

They grew together, taught each other, loved each other. Even laughed and cried with and at each other. Through the years as time passed by until we come to today. Could it be, really? 25 years ago, you took me by the hand to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. Here we are, a little worn from the wear. I love you with all my heart.

Happy Anniversary Donny!

We have a lot more ahead of us, so hold on tight.
