Camping Fun

The family had a great time at the 3rd Ward (our old ward) Family Campout. Sleeping in a tent, sitting by the fire and eating great food, these are things that memories are made of.

Flash Back Friday - I have always loved the Sun

Jason and Christi - Clovis, CA

This was a common sight, Jason and I lived in the pool and spent most of our time in our swim suits. Look how tan we were and how blonde my hair was. (I think I am about 11 in this picture.)

An Observation - I blog lifted!!

I am sharing with you a very smart and witty
observation from my niece Magen.
You can find a link to her blog on this page.

My Observations
So today during church I was made several observations concerning male attire. Now being that I once worked in the men’s department at Nordstrom I feel like I have a bit of knowledge on the subject. Now please forgive my ramblings....

1. If at all possible guys should wear a suit...the look is impressive and classy

2. Guys should be mindful of 2 button vs 3 button suits...i hate seeing shorter guys in 3 buttons suits...it accentuates their short comings

3. Skinny guys should try and get tailor dress shirts cause its way more flattering on their figure...you can find a great selection at Nordstrom

4. Long-sleeve dress shirts only...well unless you're on some tropical island

5. Once wearing the long sleeve dress shirt don't roll the sleeves up...its looks sloppy!

6. To win the crowd over throw a pair of cuff links in the mix...they are BEA-utiful!

7. Pleats on the trousers should lie flat...if they're open go up a size

8. Don't be close minded to alterations...most slacks need altered in some way

9. At all times refrain from wearing any and all ties with carton characters

10. If the shirt does not look perfectly white then get rid of it and buy a new one!

AND Finally...11. I suggest squared off shoes....rounded were the shoes of our fathers

I love the Olympics, I always have. There is magic there, the stuff dreams are made of. My favorite moments have come in the two sports that I love the most - Swimming and Gymnastics. I was on the gymnastics and swimming/diving teams in High School, so they are very close to my heart.

What another amazing moment... :-)

From Bobcat to Wolf - Derek & Devin

This has been a fast and fun filled year; the boys will soon be 9. They have enjoyed scouting so much, they loved Day Camp and the Pack Meetings and the other activities that they have been able to do. They have now moved rank from a Bobcat to a Wolf. Great Job Guys!!

The picture is dark because, it was set up like a campout
with a "fire", tent and all the extras.
Very Cool! - We have great leaders!!

The pining on of the Wolf Pins
Since we have two boys, they pined one on me than one on Donny

(I really need to sew on all their awards - what a slacker I am) HELP!!

CKU - Provo 2008

I have had the opportunity the last two days to be Teacher's Assistant for Creating Keepsakes University. I have attended two previous CKU's as a student in 2002 and 2006 and this year as a TA in 2008. I helped Lisa Bearnson herself with a class titled You/Me, a great two page layout. It's so fun to be around those so "into" Scrapbooking. I love it!! I made a new friend her name is Gail, she was the other TA. Thank you, I had a great time.

People come from all over the country and world, to enjoy CKU Provo, the birth place of CKU. What wonderful things are happening as people take the time to capture Family History, Photos, Journals etc about many subjects, not only is this amazing work but art as well.

There are so many people (mostly women) who are talented, creative, smart, artistic, letting pure joy go through them onto paper. I love paper. :-)

Lisa & Christi

I have learned to not only scrapbook the happy but the sad, the things you like and the mistakes you have made, the struggles as well as the triumphs. We also need to be in the picture, we are always taking them. Oh I understand "okay, but from here up" and girls we all know what that means.

A picture is a moment in time captured.
Hold on to it and cherish it, they go so quickly.

The Reception - Part 3

Ashley and Tua's Reception - Part 3

After a wonderful wedding ceremony, Tu'a and Ashley changed into traditional wedding mats for the reception. They looked great. The party had started with a abundant amount of Tongan dishes, fresh fruit and Banana Frappe' (which was a hit). We also served a 260 lb pig.

Families did dances and people would throw money at them, what fell to the ground went to the bride and groom. It was a fun evening.
